End of Summer Report

Most of you have already started school or are about to!  This summer went by fast!!  I wanted to thank each of you for your involvement with CYIA 2006 and the 5-day clubs!  From the best I can compile the records, here is the ending report for 5-day clubs taught by CEF CYIA’ers: (Dallas area only – this does not include the ministry that we helped with in San Marcos.)

Total number of clubs: 32
Total number of children who heard the gospel: 773
Total number of known salvations: 63
Total amount of money raised for Turkey Bibles (I mean Bibles for children in Turkey!): $52.00 (FYI - We only had 2 clubs that collected the missionary offering.)

The majority of these clubs were held in 4 weeks time – which means we had several very full weeks!!!  You worked hard!  I know the Lord is blessing you for your choice of how you spent your summer!

If any of you would like to submit a testimony of how participating in CYIA has affected your life – I would greatly appreciate it!!!  The testimony could be used in a variety of ways – to be shared with our supporters, to be shared in a newsletter, to be shared with church youth pastors as to what an awesome program CYIA is, and/or to be shared with other teens that we are trying to recruit for future CYIA.

It doesn’t have to be a long essay; it could just be a few sentences!  Any testimony would be appreciated!!!  You can email it to me as an attachment (I have Microsoft Word) or just type it in the body of your email.

I so enjoyed serving you and serving with you this past summer!!!!

Love,
Mrs. Palmer

P.S. – If it would help your high school “portfolio” for me to write a letter of participation in CYIA 2006, let me know and I’ll send you one and whoever else you want a copy sent to.  This makes sense to those who are keeping a “portfolio” for college admission and/or college scholarship.  J

5-day clubs 7/17 - 7/21

The 5-day clubs are going great!  The Lord is really blessing your ministry to the children!!!

Next week is our last “official” week for the CYIA led 5-day clubs!

(We have one club the 1st week of August: July 31 – Aug 4 and could have a few more if we have any teens available.)

We need 2 teams of three teens - One team to work the morning clubs and then another team to work the afternoon/evening club.

Let me know ASAP which team you can work. Then we’ll work out the transportation.

 Team 1 - We need 3 teens

10:00am – 11:00am
The Springs of Indian Creek Apt
Carrollton

11:30am – 12noon
Peters Colony Apt
Carrollton

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Team 2 Amy Palmer, we need 2 more teens.

 3:30pm – 4:30pm
Village West Apt
Lewisville

6:00pm – 7:00pm
Carolina Chase Apts
Dallas

Along with the clubs listed above, we also have the following opportunities:

1.       Miss Nancy is heading up the clubs that are scheduled for Play & Learn Daycare (9am – 10am) and Discovery Learning Daycare (11am – noon). I’m pretty sure some of you are scheduled to work these already.

2.       Amy Palmer needs at least one other teen to partner with her to help at a 5-day club in McKinney in the morning. (I think the time is 9:30am – 10:30am) If one of the girls would like to help her, you would be welcome to spend the night at our house any night.

3.       New Song Church(Carrollton) – they have a Summer School and have asked us to come and have 5-day club with the 70 children that attend.  However, they can only have it from 9am – 10am. If we don’t have any teens available to help at this club, a friend of mine and I will teach this one as a large group.

5-day Clubs week of July 10 - July 17

We have next week off!!! (July 3 – 7) Yea!!!  I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to a little break from the clubs.  God has been working through each of you!!  It’s been exciting to watch what He is doing!

Here’s the schedule for July 10th.  As soon as you know which club you think you can work let me know.  We will work out transportation later.

Also, if you are scheduling any clubs on your own, let me know that too.  We want to be in prayer for you. Let me know if you need any thing – more memory verse tokens, mailbox clubs, tracts, etc. . . .

The clubs we are teaching the week of July 10th are again in partnership with Bridge Builders.  (They are who we worked with when we did the club at “Cedar Springs” in the evening the week of June 19th. Just think snow cones and you’ll remember. J)

Here are the details about the clubs for the week of July 10th:

 1:00pm – 2:00pm

 Rhoads Terrace (Bridge Builders)
5712 Pilgrim
Dallas

They are expecting about 50 kids, so we need at least 6 teens.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3:00pm – 4:00pm

Turner Courts (Bridge Builders)
6508 Cannan
Dallas

They are expecting about 30 kids.  The same who worked the Rhoads Terrace club can work this club.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5:00 – 6:00pm

Renaissance Apts (Sharon Ingram)
3839 Gannon
Dallas

It would be nice to have a new team of 3 – 6 teens that teaches this club.  However, if need be we can have the teams that are teaching the previous 2 clubs teach this one as well.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Possible club if we have a team: 11am – noon.

We also have the opportunity to teach at the Eloise Lundy Rec. Center if we can get a team together to go there. We could do this one before the Rhoades Terrace club.

 Eloise Lundy Rec Center
1228 Sabine St
 Dallas
